2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Cam and Headers Package
Project Overview
They don’t make the LS7 anymore, so protecting the ones still on the road is worth every effort. This 2006 Corvette Z06 came in with low mileage but growing concern over the infamous LS7 valve drop issue—a known weak point that can lead to catastrophic engine failure.

Engine & Performance Upgrades
To eliminate the risk, KTR disassembled the engine and sent the factory cylinder heads to Golen Engine for upgraded valves and guides. Once the heads were reworked, the engine was reassembled with a BTR LS7 Stage 1 camshaft and a set of American Racing long-tube headers to give the Z06 a stronger tone and added flow.
After “surgery,” the car hit our Mainline Hub Dyno for calibration and delivered 507 HP and 451 lb-ft of torque, up from an estimated 435 HP baseline. The result—peace of mind, a healthier LS7, and a sharper edge from idle to redline.
