1999 Chevrolet Corvette Heads & Cam Package

Car

Project Overview

What started as a simple repair turned into a serious performance upgrade. This 1999 C5 Corvette came in for a failed harmonic balancer, but the owner wanted to take the opportunity to add power, sound, and reliability. KTR built a complete heads and cam package—paired with supporting components—to give this LS1 new life and a healthy dose of extra horsepower.

Engine & Supporting Upgrades

We replaced the damaged balancer and installed a BTR Stage 1 V2 cam, AFR Enforcer 210cc cylinder heads, and an upgraded oil pump for improved flow and durability. The new harmonic balancer handles higher RPMs without the common C5 issues, keeping things stable when the power comes on.

To complete the package, the Corvette received a set of long tube headers, a Vararam cold air intake, and FIC 36lb injectors for clean fueling across the curve. The result was an estimated 97 HP gain over stock, transforming this C5 into a sharper, more responsive machine that sounds as strong as it pulls.
